La Conférence internationale «La biotechnologie pour l’alimentation en eau durable de l’Afrique» est l’événement de clôture du projet WATERBIOTECH, une action de coordination financée par l’Union européenne dans le cadre du septième programme-cadre (FP7).
La conférence qui se tiendra à Marrakech (Maroc) comme la culmination de plus de deux années de travail intensif sous l’initiative WATERBIOTECH, réunira les membres du consortium WATERBIOTECH et des décideurs nationaux et régionaux, des professionnels de l’eau, des scientifiques et des praticiens. L’événement comprend la présentation des articles scientifiques qui s’occupent de la gestion de l’eau, du traitement de l’eau et de l’approvisionnement en eau de l’Afrique, ainsi que des groupes de discussion et des ateliers.
La conférence scientifique est complétée par une exposition commerciale montrant l’état-of-the-art en biotechnologie pour le traitement d’eau. Le développement en Afrique doit s’approcher du bas vers le hautrendant compte des besoins de tous les acteurs tant que projet WATERBIOTECH l’a poursuivi. Le réseau entre l’Afrique et l’Europe résulté du projet WATERBIOTECH a conduit aux expériences d’apprentissage mutuel.
Le but de cette conférence est d’étendre la coopération fructueuse à tous les participants de la conférence et de diffuser largement les résultats de l’initiative WATERBIOTECH.
CALL FOR PAPERS
The International Conference “Biotechnology for Africa’s sustainable water supply”, organized by the National Centre for Studies and Research on Water and Energy, University Cadi Ayyad, is the closing event of WATERBIOTECH project, a Coordination Action supported by the European Union under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
The objectives of this conference is to bring together members of WATERBIOTECH consortium in conjunction with national and regional decision makers, water professionals, experts in water treatment biotechnologies, scientists and practitioners and to promote the transfer of knowledge between African organizations and other regions in the world.
The event includes the presentation of scientific papers related to relevant aspects of water management, water treatment and water supply in Africa as well as discussion panels and Side events.
The scientific conference will be complemented by an exhibition showing the state-of-the-art in biotechnology for water treatment.
The WATERBIOTECH final conference will be a forum for exchange of best practices and knowledge transfer between African countries and all over the world with regards to the following topics:
Biotechnologies for water treatment and reuse in the African context
Requirements and practical experiences in water treatment and re-use in Africa
Operation and maintenance related to biotechnologies for water treatment and re-use
Energy efficiency in wastewater treatment
Water treatment policies
Sharing and discussing views and experiences on “Biotechnology for Africa’s sustainable water supply” will provide the opportunity to directly address the challenges of sustainable development in African countries.
